The wine is an absolutely breath-taking dark, ruby color which one notices immediately upon pouring a glass. Swirling reveals a rich, complex nose, full of ripe strawberry, minerals and spice. The mouthfeel is enormous and a wide array of fresh raspberries, ripe blackberry, white pepper, and allspice are framed with firm acidity and tannin. The finish is impossibly long with the terroir driven notes of earth and a certain minerality lingering well into the next sip. A high-end representation of true west-side Paso Robles Zin!
100% Zinfandel grown entirely on the Hammersky Vineyards, located in the heart of the acclaimed west-side of Paso Robles. Aged 14 months in 20% new Hungarian oak, 80% neutral French oak barrels. Picked ripe and fermented in small open-top fermenters to more easily manage fermentation temps.
