Ever the eclectic entrepreneur, it’s no mystery why Dr. Douglas Hauck wanted to create a winery of his own.  As a movie producer and a dentist for the Hollywood elite why not add winery to the list?  Doug has always loved the way wine connects family and friends.  His vision of sitting at a large dinner table with all of his closest friends and family and sharing fine wine with them is one of his happiest inspirations.  Doug and his family create delicious wine and want to share their hidden retreat with a wide variety of wine lovers.

Dr. Hauck has had the opportunity for some unique experiences in his lifetime.  Not everyone gets to experience Hollywood as intimately.  What is it like to be a doctor in Beverly Hills, surrounded by eclectic Hollywood stars, the music industry and the wide variety of people who make Hollywood what it is?  The people he spends time with everyday are private, sometimes mysterious and very often eccentric.  Doug would like to share his experiences with others while getting to know new wine enthusiasts who discover Hammersky.

Doug and his wife Kim spent more than twelve years searching up and down California patiently waiting for the perfect location for a winery to present itself.  A small property with vineyards already developed went up for sale on Vineyard Drive in Paso Robles.  The location was already exactly where they wanted to be.  They knew it could be the one.

After years of planning and searching, the perfect place finally lay before them.  It satisfied all of the criteria they had been looking for: fifty acres of rolling hills with planted vines in the Paso Robles appellation, a charming farmhouse, pastoral views of  large oak trees and a beautiful drive surrounding the vineyard.
Together the couple restored the farmhouse and kept original touches throughout the home. With the help of a talented winemaker they’ve managed to create magnificent wines that they love and want to share with others – friends, new friends and family.

The name Hammersky is inspired by their two sons Hamilton and Skyler.  Kim and Doug Hauck hope that one day their sons will grow to share their passion about the vineyard and Hammersky wine.
